Prairie Bee Camps
Prairie Bee Camps is a boat-in camp, with an outpost cabin at the west arm of the lake, and the main camp on the east end. The lake is about 10 miles (16 km.) long, and averages about 20 feet deep, with some places as deep as 80 feet. Prairie Bee has a diversified fishery. Walleye, pike, smallmouth bass and white fish abound. We are also bordered by Windermere Lake, which has the same kinds of fish. This is a five minute boat ride and a two minute portage from our main camp. Between our two lakes, we have hundreds of miles of shorelines and rocky shoals to fish.
There are other, smaller lakes that are excellent for pike quite close to the main camp. Each cabin is fully equipped with kitchen utensils and dishes. There are pillows and extra blankets in the bedrooms for added comfort. You need to bring your own groceries, sleeping bag and/or blankets, pillow case, personal towels and face cloths, and hand soap, a whistle and watertight flashlight, fishing tackle, personal floatation device (not a seat cushion) for the boat. Toilet paper and garbage bags are provided. The beach by the camp is sandy, perfect for swimming, and there are several other beaches nearby for more privacy.
